Raymarine updates starting from Annapolis
Latest version of LightHouse OS is named after capital of Maryland.
Marine electronics brand Raymarine has updated its LightHouse operating system with a new 3.9 version named after the US coastal town of Annapolis. Beginning with this update, Raymarine is adopting alphabetical names for future updates that pay homage to great boating destinations of the world.
The new update is free to download here and offers a number of new features for Raymarine multi-function displays.
Live layline display: support for the display of dynamic laylines on the navigation chart. Sailing along laylines maximises a boat’s Velocity Made Good (VMG) to windward, making upwind sailing as efficient as possible. Laylines can be configured to display from a performance profile using fixed angles or from polar performance data.
Built-in polar performance data: built-in polars for over 200 popular models of yachts. Choose the make and model to gain access to optimised laylines specific to the boat model. Polar performance targets can be displayed in the newly enhanced Dashboard application.
Dashboard app and sailing dials: The data Dashboard app has been upgraded with new sailing-specific items that work alongside the laylines on the chartplotter. New data items and dial indicators display the direction to steer to maximise the VMG to windward.
ClearCruise augmented reality for thermal cameras: ClearCruise AR is now supported on FLIR M132 and M232 thermal camera systems. Day or night, AR displays valuable identification data for navigation aids, AIS contacts and waypoints. The AR display also updates automatically to work with the pan and digital zoom capabilities of the M232 for true 360° viewing. ClearCruise AR is only available on Axiom MFDs.
RealBathy contour mapping: build detailed bathymetric charts in real-time using data from the MFD's GPS and connected sonar or fishfinder. RealBathy draws detailed depth contours in any body of water and does not require a chart purchase or subscription; simply drop the boat in the water, insert a memory card with available space and it will start making maps. RealBathy is only available on Axiom MFDs.
Sonar pinch and range shift controls: supports intuitive pinch-to-zoom touchscreen control as well as touch-and-drag range shift. The zoom definition is infinitely adjustable up to a maximum magnification of 8X. Touch-and-drag can be used to study a smaller portion of the water column with greater detail and a faster ping rate.
Yamaha Command Link Plus integration: certified by Yamaha, the system monitors up to four engines plus tanks and batteries on the MFD.
- UAV app now supports the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom drones
- Audio app includes multi-zone volume level control for Fusion marine source units
- Dashboard app can be used to name, monitor and calibrate Oceanic digital tank level sounders
- Radar sector blanking is now available for Magnum radars
- Video player will play back video streams recorded from video-over-IP marine and thermal cameras.
