Plus adds more with Garmin Strikers
New Striker Plus series integrates with ActiveCaptain mobile app.
Garmin has launched a new range of Striker fishfinders call the Striker Plus series.
“The new Striker Plus series has the features that will bring the benefit of built-in GPS, Quickdraw Contours and wi-fi to first-time users, and will convince existing Striker customers to upgrade,” said Adam Howarth, general manager, Garmin Australasia. “These new fishfinders are the perfect entry-level solution for anglers who want the best sonar available plus the ability to create and store their own contour maps.”
Like the first-generation Strikers, the Plus series models offer built-in CHIRP traditional sonar and CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar technology for viewing below and to the side of the boat.
In addition to the Quickdraw Contours software which allows users to create their own maps, the Plus series models are the first to integrate with the ActiveCaptain mobile app. This makes it easier for users to transfer maps and waypoints from their mobile device directly to the Striker Plus unit. ActiveCaptain also provides access to the Quickdraw Contours Community to share or download new user-collected data. Users can also share waypoint data across multiple Striker Plus units, as well as the new Echomap Plus series devices.
Available with a 5- or 7-inch display, the Plus series also adds 4.3- and 9-inch models to the line-up with a range of transom and trolling motor transducer and mounting hardware options including a flush-mount kit for in-dash installation.
The new fishfinders will be available in Q4 2017 with recommended retail prices ranging from AU$249 to $899 and NZ$299 to $999. For more information, visit garmin.com/newmarine.
