Navico CEO excited by performance of new Carbon displays.

Lowrance has added to its series of High Definition System (HDS) fishfinders/chartplotters with a new HDS Carbon model.

“Our new HDS Carbon displays are not only more than capable of handling our current technologies, but are designed to grow with our future innovations for years to come,” said Leif Ottosson, CEO, Navico. “From the enhanced viewability of our SolarMAX HD displays, our new dual channel and Network Dual Sounder technologies, to the high-performance processor, we are confident our customers will be as excited about the increased performance they get from HDS Carbon as we are.”

As described by Ottosson, the HDS Carbon takes a standard HDS series unit and adds a high-performance dual core processor, multi-touch SolarMAX HD screen, dual channel CHIRP and Network Dual Sounder. The new series is available in 12-, 9- and 7-inch models (or 30.5cm, 22.9cm and 17.8cm for those more familiar with the metric system). Navico did not reveal why the new models are called Carbon.

They will be available in March 2017.
