Garmin launches new GPSMAP models

Latest multifunction displays now available in Australia.

Marine electronics manufacturer Garmin has announced that its latest range of GPSMAP multifunction displays is now available in Australia. The new range encompasses the 752xs/952xs touchscreen and 1022xsv/1222xsv rotary control/keyed units.

The compact 752xs (7” display) and 952xs (9” display) models are equipped with 1kW traditional CHIRP sonar, CHIRP ClearVü scanning sonar as well as support for Panoptix all-seeing sonar. Built-in wireless connectivity for Garmin mobile apps and VIRB action camera integration is also standard. A 10Hz GPS/GLONASS receiver delivers smooth on-screen navigation and the units come preloaded with mapping features including Australia/New Zealand BlueChart g2 HD charts.

For users who prefer a keypad interface, the GPSMAP 1022xsv (10” display) and GPSMAP 1222xsv (12” display) offer the same GPS and connectivity features coupled with an all-new industrial design featuring a large, sunlight-readable screen coupled with a keypad interface and new multifunction rotary control knob. There are also user-programmable hot keys for one-touch access to favourite features and functions.

The 1022xsv and 1222xsv models also come preloaded with a worldwide basemap with SD card slots to accept Garmin BlueChart g2 Vision HD charts which can be coupled with Garmin Auto Guidance for automatic route creation.

Sailing features integrated into the new GPSMAP series include laylines, tidal information, enhanced wind rose, a current slider and other elements. All new models also offer integrated ANT support for use with the quatix 3 marine GPS smartwatch, Garmin Nautix in-view display, gWind Wireless 2 transducer, GNX Wind marine instrument and wireless remote controls.

All the 2017 models feature built-in Quickdraw Contours software, full-network compatibility for the Garmin Marine Network, and NMEA 2000 and NMEA 0183 support for autopilots, digital switching, VHF, AIS and other sensors.

RRP starts at $1499 for the GPSMAP 752xs up to $3799 for the GPSMAP 1222xsv.
