VICTOR Marine Ltd has announced it has developed a lightweight aluminium oily water separator for the high speed vessel market where weight is a concern.
The new oily water separator offers a 30 per cent weight saving over their standard production oily water separator whilst still achieving certification to the latest relevant IMO/MARPOL standards.
Three of these lightweight units have already been ordered and supplied for installation on fast attack interceptor vessels in India.
Tasked with producing a separator weighing no more than 215 kg (dry weight) Victor Marine have produced a fully functional aluminium separator weighing only 169 kg (dry weight) which is a 30 per cent reduction in the finished weight of a standard CS Series unit.
Duncan Marshall sales & marketing manager at Victor Marine said: “Victor Marine is extremely delighted with the finished unit as we strive constantly to design and build high quality, reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet customer requirements.”
