THE National 4x4 & Outdoors Show and Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show are aiming to nurture a spirit of adventure within kids with a series of hands-on activities that both educate and entertain.
With kids under 15 admitted free, a visit to the shows at Brisbane’s RNA Showgrounds is sure to be on the to-do list of families from March 23-25.
Snake education and bite prevention sessions will instill awareness and confidence in kids from a young age. They will learn to identify dangerous species and pick up valuable first-aid tips in the event of a bite.
As well as joining the family in a 4WD test ride, kids can also have some fun of their own on the radio-controlled rock crawler course.
Scenic Rim Adventure Park and TheCrawlPit's interactive displays will feature a range of challenging obstacles to navigate, with patience and precision the key to taming the terrain.
The Kids Marine Zone will have young anglers out-fishing dad in no time. The free interactive sessions, hosted by 2 Bent Rods, will teach kids the basics of rod casting, cast netting and bait netting – dad won’t stand a chance!
There are painting workshops where kids can add a splash of colour to wooden fishing lures and plaster moulds, making for a great keepsake.
A first for this year’s event is the Tinnie & Tackle Treasure Hunt. Kids can search the entire show for clues for a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
The National 4x4 Outdoors Show and the Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Expo will be held at the RNA Showgrounds from March 23-25.
Organisers have introduced a free travel option for those wishing to attend the show, with weekend trains from Brisbane’s Central and Roma Street Stations running across the weekend for ticketholders.
LOWRANCE last week launched its Elite 4 and Mark 4 sounder and sounder/GPS combo units in a media event held at Narabeen Lake north of Sydney.
