Sydney Maritimo dealer supports kids with cancer

CRUISE for a Cure is back this year helping raise the spirits of cancer suffering kids and their families. Cruise for a Cure is a one-day event which takes children who are battling cancer and their families out for a day on the water aboard some of Sydneyís finest luxury cruisers.

The response to last year's event exceeded all expectations and was a resounding success for not only the children themselves but also for everyone involved.

The event is run in conjunction with "Cure our Kids", a foundation that aims to improve the quality of life for children battling cancer and their families, and operates through the Childrenís Hospital at Westmead.

Boat owners are invited to register their support for the 2012 Cruise for a Cure with by SBM Maritimo. Naturally enough itís not just Maritimos, owners of power and sail boats from around 30ft upwards of all makes and models are invited to lend their support. Best of all, youíll be in for an unforgettable and richly satisfying day on the water.

The event takes off from Fergusonísí Boatshed on the Spit and from various locations including Pittwater and Port Hacking. Children and their families will each be assigned to a particular boat, and will be able to choose their own adventure. They could choose a spot of fishing, cruising to one of Sydneyís unforgettable little bays or coves, so simply dropping anchor in a secluded bay and enjoying our wonderful waterways.

In addition to the fun activities, fundraising is another important role of the Cruise for a Cure.

"We have Platinum, Silver and Bronze sponsorship opportunities available," said SBM Maritimo's Steve Batton.

ìFor platinum donations of $1,000 or more, corporations will be able to display banners on selected boats. We also encourage individuals to donate $500 or more through a Bronze sponsorship package.î

Cruise for a Cure is being held on Sunday February 26, 2012. Advance registrations are vital to allow organisers to make the necessary preparations to ensure the day goes off smoothly. To register their support, boat owners can simply visit www.sbmmaritimosydney.com.au or email SBM Maritimo Cruise for a Cure on: bbatton@maritimosydney.com.au or by phone (02) 9968 1222.
