RFD Australia has announced the launch of the new Coastal Liferaft, a product which has been specifically designed to meet the stringent ISO 9650-1 standard for inflatable liferafts. The new model is also fully tested, certified and approved to meet the new NMSC Coastal specifications.
Available in five sizes and packed in a low profile, vivid white container, the RFD Coastal range can accommodate from four to twelve persons depending upon the model.
The RFD Coastal embodies all the latest design and technology in liferafts. Vacuum packed into the new low profile container, the Coastal is compact and takes up precious little space on board.
When activated, the raft inflates quickly to form a rectangular shape. The outer perimeter is formed with two air tubes, one above the other, with a canopy supported by an inflatable "beam".
As an essential safety feature, the entire raft is finished in a hi-vis orange colour. Other safety features include an insulated floor, large water ballast pockets and a semi rigid boarding ramp to aid people boarding from the water.
Also included in the Coastal Liferaft is an EPIRB, plus an interior and exterior light. The emergency equipment pack is comprehensively stocked with quality equipment.
“This is a fully featured, ISO 9650 standard compliant liferaft that is ideally suited to those serious boaters and professionals where compliance to survey is key to their activities,” said RFD MD Mark Barker.
“The RFD Coastal is compact and well-priced, so there is really no excuse for not complying with the new NMSC coastal requirements for a liferaft on board.”
The RFD Coastal liferaft is available in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 person configurations. The smallest liferaft weighs just 46kgs (liferaft and container combined) with the biggest 12 person Coastal liferaft weighing in at 85 kgs.
