Perth show bigger and better for 2018
The Boating Industry Association of Western Australia has announced details of WA’s biggest boating event, the Club Marine Perth International Boat Show, to be held on 21-24 September.
Following the success of the inaugural Perth International Boat Show in 2017, the event will be even bigger in 2018, taking up all six pavilions within the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre; and utilising Elizabeth Quay for boat displays and boating and sailing activities.
The show will feature Western Australia’s best new products from the boating industry, with big boat displays on water and government displays within Elizabeth Quay and indoor displays of the latest trailerboats, jet skis, canoes and kayaks, engines, fishing tackle, electronics and navigation, clothing and more.
BIAWA president Mike Beanland said the Club Marine Perth International Boat Show was successful in 2017 as it offered something new and unique to the industry, and allowed for both indoor displays as well as on water exhibits.
“The two sites of Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and Elizabeth Quay are ideal for this event. The inner city location means easy access for transport and infrastructure, and there is no better choice than being right on the stunning Swan River,” Beanland said.
“Undercover exhibits within Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre are extremely popular, and we are pleased to have access to all six pavilions in 2018. From the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, a short walk down the escalators will lead to the on-water displays within Elizabeth Quay.”
“Activities, entertainment and attractions will be held on water at Elizabeth Quay. In 2017 the show presented an exciting Sailing Festival, with free sailing activities; and we are already in discussions with Swan River Sailing to present a similar Festival this year. The show will also have new boat demos, kayak rides, stand up paddle board demos and rides, power boat racing, water ski demos and more.”
Beanland adds the industry is looking forward to a big event this year following a successful launch in 2017. He said the BIAWA was pleased with feedback from exhibitors from the 2017 show, which was overwhelmingly positive all round.
The Club Marine Perth International Boat Show is estimated to attract 20,000 visitors across the four day long weekend who not only enjoy the festivities, but will also have the opportunity to purchase new boats, engines and other related goods at boat show prices.
The Club Marine Perth International Boat Show is an initiative of the Boating Industry of Western Australia. The Show is supported by Club Marine Insurance, City of Perth, Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority.
