Local luxury boat builders Riviera and Maritimo have unveiled details of the new models they will be showing at this year's Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in May.

Returning after an absence of several years due to the competing Gold Coast Expo show, Riviera has announced that it will be premiering two new boats at the show, the 395 SUV and the 72 Sports Motor Yacht.

“We are thrilled to present two world premieres at the 30th anniversary Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.

“The 395 SUV is Riviera's much-awaited under-forty-foot model, offering a generous open cockpit, two spacious staterooms, a large bathroom and an open and comfortable saloon with aft galley.

“She provides a compelling new entree to the Riviera family.”

The launch of the 72 Sports Motor Yacht follows on from the introduction of 68 model at the Sydney International Boat Show last year.

In addition to the new models, Riviera plans to display a range of models across its various collections of Sport Yachts, Flybridges and SUVs as well as the Belize models.

Longhurst said the company was excited to be returning in 2018 to celebrate the show’s 30th anniversary alongside the rest of the marine community.

“We listened to the feedback, and both our customers and dealers said they want us at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, so we are thrilled to be returning,” he said.

Meanwhile Maritimo, which is based at Sanctuary Cove, will stage the world launch of the X60 model along another eight boats on-water including the S51, M51, M59, S70 and M54 models.

“The shaft driven Maritimo X60 will be the most technologically advanced vessel the company has ever manufactured, with performance and systems developed in collaboration with the world champion Maritimo racing team, using race-proven components and the latest 3D modelling and fluid dynamics software,” said Tom Barry-Cotter.

“The X60 will inherit and evolve on the attributes of sea-going performance, durability and fuel economy synonymous with the Maritimo brand.”

Alongside models already announced from Clipper, Grand Banks, Fleming, Integrity, Beneteau Swift and Alaska, other dealers and brands lining up at the show include Whitehaven Motor Yachts with the 7500 sports yacht, Great Southern Marine with the Palm Beach 65, Sundance Marine with the Monte Carlo MCY76 and Prestige 460 motor yacht, and UAE brand Gulf Craft represented by Australian Superyachts.

Horizon Motor Yachts Australia, also based at Sanctuary Cove, will host the global launch of the latest long-range cruising model from the Taiwanese builder, the V81. Horizon will also have a new E75 on show, a model which proved popular after it sold on day one of SCIBS 2017, along with the E56XO which the company says has been specifically designed for Australian boating.

The Brits will also be out in force at SCIBS with Princess planning to showcase the Princess V48 Open, the new F65 and a third boat yet to be confirmed, while Sunseeker will be showing a four-cabin flybridge model, the 65 Manhattan, and Fairline will be featured with the new Targa 48 GT presented by Leigh-Smith Yachts.

An interesting new addition this year is Longreef, a new brand introduced by Andy Young, founder of Boating Syndication Australia (BSA), and Mark Johnston, founder of international market research firm, Investment Trends. Last year BSA showed the Longreef 88 as a syndication boat and this year it will be returning with its latest Longreef 60 flybridge.

“The Longreef 60 embraces our core design philosophy of effortless luxury,” said Young.

“We believe that the best boat is one where everything you need is included and is engineered back to a clean, beautiful form that works every time; where all the details have been thought through so thoroughly that they disappear into the background, because everything is as it should be.”

In total, the marina at SCIBS is set to feature more than 150 boats this year. SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said the team is thrilled with the strong support shown by the industry’s biggest brands and dealers.

“Visitors will be amazed by the quality and diversity of boats on display,” he said. “To have a significant congregation of the world’s leading brands in one place at SCIBS is a great vote of confidence and we know visitors will be keen to see these incredible boats up close.
