MEC wins cat contract

MEC Yachts, a division of Marine Engineering Consultants, and AIMEX member, has announced it has won a contract to build a 20m luxury aluminium power catamaran on the Gold Coast, making it the fifth catamaran to be built under the MEC Yachts banner.

“We are excited to have won this contract. This new catamaran will be launched in 2011 at next years Sanctuary Cove Boat Show,” said MEC's Murray Owen.

MEC is taking a proactive approach in this current economic climate ensuring their services are also being showcased globally. The company recently exhibited in Dubai and will be part of the Australian pavilion in Monaco.

“The capability of the Australian Marine Industry must be showcased globally to ensure we attract business and maximise the opportunities for the marine industry here to continue to thrive and survive,” said Owen.
