An action-packed program of world and national launches, ground-breaking marine technology and non-stop entertainment is set to draw more than 45,000 people to the 31st Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) later this month.
More than 300 exhibitors have signed on to showcase their latest vessels and products at the event, which will be held from May 23-26 at the Gold Coast resort community.
And while boat lovers will revel in the chance to explore the vast array of vessels on water and land, organisers have promised a line-up of live music, vibrant bars, street entertainers and family-friendly activities that will appeal to everyone.
“The beauty of SCIBS is it doesn’t matter what floats your boat, you’re certain to find something that will bring a smile to your face,” said SCIBS General Manager, Johan Hasser.
“Whether you’re looking to buy a luxury yacht, visit the pavilions, wine and dine with friends or have a ton of fun with your children, the range of options are endless.
“We are proud to be the boat show where the marine industry does business, but we take just as much pride in hosting thousands of people who simply want to explore and enjoy all that makes SCIBS one of the highlights of the Queensland events calendar.
“Our free Park ‘N’ Ride service from Warner Bros’ Movie World offers car parking and air-conditioned shuttle buses and is a popular, stress-free mode of transport to get to SCIBS in 2019.”
Marine industry giants Maritimo, Riviera, Princess and Horizon will all unveil their latest creations at SCIBS 2019, with other exhibitors including Whitehaven, Integrity Motor Yachts, Alexander Marine, Multihull Solutions, Jeanneau, Leigh-Smith Yachts, Queensland Marine Centre and Quintrex.
Long-time sponsor and renowned British car manufacturer Bentley will display its latest, luxurious range of motor vehicles, including the all-new Continental GT Convertible, as well as celebrating the brand’s 100th birthday.
The ‘Sports, Leisure and Fishing Boat’ precinct will also feature 20,000sqm of outdoor space dedicated entirely to trailerable craft and a huge array of the industry’s latest gear and gadgets.
On the social front, the VIP Lounge presented by InterContinental Hayman Island Resort, will be hugely popular with marine industry powerbrokers, VIPs and guests.
Paul Burt’s live cooking demonstrations are also expected to attract large crowds, while the boating and fishing identity will film an edition of his new Step Outside program in front of a live audience at the Main Stage.
“SCIBS has been drawing people to Sanctuary Cove for more than three decades and we are more committed than ever to finding new ways to entertain our visitors,” Mr Hasser said.
“The event also provides countless opportunities for our loyal exhibitors and marine industry leaders to network, including the coinciding Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference and our very own SCIBS Industry Trade Breakfast.
“We can’t wait to officially open the show for four massive days of boating.”
Considered one of the most important B2B events on the Australian boating calendar, SCIBS is endorsed by Tourism & Events Queensland and a member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organisers.
