Marina assets in the spotlight at METS
John Hogan to host marina valuation seminar at METSTRADE show.
Marina operators heading to this year's METSTRADE show will have the opportunity to attend a one-day Marina Investment and Valuation seminar aimed at maximising marina assets.
The seminar is being hosted by John Hogan of Superior Jetties in his role as chairman of the Global Marina Institute and will feature a line-up of international speakers including Darren Vaux, director of Empire Marina Bobbin Head and Marine Business columnist.
The seminar will run on Monday, 13 November 2017 just prior to the opening of the METSTRADE show. Topics to be covered include an overview of the marina industry, local and global trends impacting on marina assets, optimisation of marina operations including revenue and costs, principles which influence the value of marina assets, funding in the marina industry, and key considerations when buying or selling marina assets.
Confirmed speakers include Dan Hughes CMM, business development director at Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Limited and Ian Froome, partner at Vail Williams LLP. Places at the seminar are limited and must be booked.
Alongside the seminar, more than 65 marina equipment and material suppliers will be exhibiting at the METSTRADE Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) which the organisers claim is the world’s largest concentration of exhibitors from the marina and yard industry in a business-to-business environment.
“The success of the Marina & Yard Pavilion over recent years has transformed it into the number one trade show for the international marina industry,” said Sarah Westdijk, exhibition manager for the Marina & Yard Pavilion. “Endorsed by the ICOMIA Marinas Group from the outset, I am delighted that the Global Marina Institute has committed to the MYP this year and selected the show as the ideal platform for a seminar for marina professionals.”
