Australian maritime company makes agreement with Norwegian research vessel designer.

Skipsteknisk AS of Norway and International Maritime Consultants (IMC) of Fremantle, Australia have entered into a teaming agreement to offer the Skipsteknisk range of hydrographic oceanographic research vessel designs to the Commonwealth of Australia under program SEA 2400 Phase 1 Hydrographic Data Collection Capability.

The exclusive arrangement will bring together Skipsteknisk’s (www.skipsteknisk.no) global research vessel portfolio of in-service designs with IMC’s (www.imcau.com.au) wealth of Australian vessel compliance experience and vessel construction support. On the basis of both naval architecture consultancies independent position, the Skipsteknisk IMC team will make its reference design/s available to program bidders on a non-exclusive basis, ensuring the Commonwealth has maximum flexibility in its choice of supplier and build location.
