Gordon Howlett elected as AMIF president

THE Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) has elected Gordon Howlett as its new president.

Howlett takes over from long-serving president, Barry Jenkins who continues in an advisory role as immediate past president, and BIA SA president George Bolton has been elected AMIF vice president.

Gordon Howlett holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) and has operated an accounting practice for over thirty years. Since 1994 he has run an international fishing tourism business in Victoria.

Howlett recently completed three years as president of BIA Victoria and has represented Victoria on AMIF for most of that time.

Howlett said AMIF represented the Australian marine industry at a national and international level while working with the industry at large to develop a suitable national representative body for the long term.
