Electric propulsion by Mastervolt now available in Australia

SYDNEY-based E-boating specialist Eco Boats Australia (who was previously the Australian distributor of Bellmann) has been appointed as distributor for the Mastervolt E-propulsion range for the Australian retail and small/medium craft OEM markets.

Large craft OEMs will be serviced by Power Protection Solutions (Mastervolts Australian distributor) in order to integrate the electric drive systems with Mastervolt's range of quality onboard power solutions.

Inboards, saildrives, hybrids, and submersible POD motors are available now to Australian boatbuilders, shipwrights and manufacturers. Output power ranges from 2.5 – 20kW (equivalent to 7-60HP) or custom solutions with higher capacities.

Boat owners are seeing the benefits of electric motors to power new or existing craft. Electric drives are quiet, clean, reliable and economical to run. Especially for displacement vessels such as yachts and traditional timber boats it makes sense to convert to electric drive, as relatively little power is needed to bring a boat up to its hull speed.

Electric boat motors can be powered by various batteries such as AGM or Lithium batteries. Recharging is done either from 240V shore power or via solar/wind energy if the boat is on a mooring. For high power applications or long distance cruising there is the option of adding a generator to the set-up, creating a hybrid drive system, which offers all the benefits of electric propulsion combined with unparalleled fuel efficiency.

All Mastervolt e-propulsion and hybrid systems come as a complete plug-and-play package consisting of motor, controller, connection cables, display and throttle. A battery & charger package is available to match the budget and performance expectations.
