THE Board of the Boating Industry Association of NSW have again decided to hold exhibitor rates for the 2012 Rosehill Gardens and Sydney International Boat Shows.
The BIA NSW Board has announced to assist industry in these difficult financial times, Sydney International Boat Show Exhibition Rates will be held at last year’s rates despite known cost increases of between four and six per cent. The board recognised the challenges the industry is facing and believe that holding exhibitor rates is one way of assisting members in the coming year. This will be the fourth time in the past six years that the association has held rates as a way of supporting the industry.
Over the past 13 years space exhibition costs have raised an average of 2.2 per cent pa. The NSW BIA said this announcement delivers real value for members for Australia’s number one show and most popular show.
Apart from holding rates, free public entry will continue to apply in 2012 for the BIA subsidised Rosehill Trailer Boat Show.
Roy Privett, the association's general manager said: “The board are fully aware of what is happening in the market place, and it is their belief that they should do what they can to support the industry.”
The BIA said that the promotion of the boating lifestyle is an ongoing and critical element of the association’s responsibilities, it has again committed to sponsoring Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender program in 2012. The relationship with Sydney Weekender started in 1998 and each year the BIA works with the program to produce 14 to 18 stories, all telling a positive boating lifestyle story.
“The show is not about selling a brand of boat. It’s about educating the audience about how easy it is to participate in recreational boating. It’s about how people can enjoy a healthy lifestyle on the water. To kick off summer, the Sydney Weekender will throughout December run a promotion where a lucky viewer can win a family boating package.”
The promotion has been put together with support from Savage and Evinrude, Blakes Marine and the BIA, with a lucky winner taking home a $24,500 boating package. The promotion will show viewers how simple and cheap it can be getting the family onto the water. Last calls for entries will occur in their bumper Christmas Eve special.
LOWRANCE last week launched its Elite 4 and Mark 4 sounder and sounder/GPS combo units in a media event held at Narabeen Lake north of Sydney.
