Berth 'upsize' offered by Anchorage Marina
Williamstown marina offers tenants 'super-size' boat-and-a-half berths.
Anchorage Marina in Williamstown on Victoria's Port Philip Bay at the mouth of the Yarra River is offering tenants the option to 'upsize' their berths to accommodate additional vessels or watercraft.
Dani Limback, manager of Anchorage Marina, said that as a result of some creative berth allocation, the marina is now able to offer berth-and-a-half or twin berth packages at realistic prices.
“Some of our owners have multiple vessels and want to have all of their toys in the water for family and friends to play all day,” she said. “We can berth a cruiser, jet ski and a fishing boat all together in the one zone and even offer jet ski docks and sea pens to avoid the need for constantly taking the boats in and out.
“One owner has a giant inflatable slide that keeps his kids and their friends happy all day.”
The ‘upsize’ option is also available for catamaran owners, offering double berths without the double price tag.
The extra berthing space is designed to make it easier for owners to get out on the water whenever they like, said Limback.
“Melbourne has some of the best boating in Australia, but you have to be ready to go when the weather is suitable. Having a yacht or cruiser and maybe a fishing boat or a couple of jet skis ready to go, with no boat ramp hassles, maximises your time out on the water. Pick and choose your water activity there and then.
“The best part is that, socially, the marina itself is a great place to unwind. People are enjoying their boats and other toys without always leaving the marina, swimming, playing on jet skis, fishing and having a laugh meeting new people with similar interests.”
