AIMEX members network with Italian delegation

AUSTRALIAN International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce – Lucca Promos, hosted a networking cocktail party and presentation during Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS).

AIMEX board member Jeremy Spear worked closely with the Italians while at Seatec Italy in early 2010 initiating the opportunity for the Italian delegation to exhibit at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and work with AIMEX.

This is the first time an Italian delegation have exhibited at SCIBS and from the feedback received from the Italian companies it certainly will not be the last. AIMEX said It was also a fantastic opportunity for AIMEX members to further develop their understanding of the current state of the Italian marine industry.

Italian companies that exhibited at SCIBS included Tecnicomar, Gianneschi, Tecnoseal, Catef, BCM Illuminazione and OFF.MECC.RICCI.

The Italians were extremely impressed by the wide range of exhibitors at the show plus the innovation and quality displayed by Australian manufacturers.

“It certainly looks very likely we will have another Italian delegation here in 2011, working with AIMEX has allowed our Italian companies the opportunity to network with Australian manufacturers and better understand the scope and capability of the Australian Marine Industry,” said Silvia Selmo Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia.

AIMEX CEO MaryAnne Edwards said a special thank you must go to the Italian Chamber of Commerce – Lucca Promos for their initiative in organising this delegation and hopefully there was businesses achieved as a result.

“AIMEX look forward to further developing their relationship with the Italians,” she said.
