Yamaha opens new Brisbane facility

Yamaha Motor Australia has officially opened its new Brisbane facility in a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony performed by Takashi Kajikawa, president of Yamaha Motor Corporation.

The new facility covers 11500 m2 of prime riverside location on the Brisbane River in the rapidly growing Rivergate Marina precinct. The building houses Yamaha's national head office for marine operations as well as being a Queensland base for YMA motorcycle and golf car divisions and motorcycle accessories company, Ficeda.

In his speech Kajikawa expressed the need for focus and hard work in market conditions that have been difficult for all businesses. He was confident the new state of the art facilities would help build on Yamaha's strong position in the Queensland marine market as well as the Australian market as a whole.

"The past year has been difficult for everyone in the marine industry," says Brett Hampson, national sales and marketing manager for Yamaha outboards. "The businesses that have been able to get through these times have had to work hard to survive. They will all come out stronger, more focused and better prepared for the future. We certainly intend to."
