Mercury celebrates 20,000

Mercury Marine is celebrating a major milestone, having now sold more than 20,000 four-stroke outboard engines across Australia.

"Whichever way you cut it, 20,000 is a lot of outboards and understandably we're quite proud of the achievement," said Nicholas Webb, Mercury's Director of Outboard Product (Australia, New Zealand, Pacific).

"With 70 years of history manufacturing outboards, Mercury has long been known as a leader in two-stroke technology but more recently we've earned a reputation for building quiet, fuel efficient, super-reliable four strokes."

The Mercury and Mariner brands feature four stroke outboard models ranging from the portable 2.5hp through to the 350hp supercharged Mercury Verado.

"When we created the Verado in 2004 it was the world's first supercharged four stroke outboard, and the latest generation Verado is still leading the way - great reliability, fuel economy, unrivalled torque and acceleration, and very, very quiet," Webb said.
