CruiseCraft launches Explorer 485

THE line-up of CruiseCraft Explorer fishing boats has expanded with the release of the new Explorer 485 model.

Measuring 4.95m long (including bowsprit) the Explorer 485’s basic configuration features a cuddy cab with open vee storage bins, big forward walk-through deck hatch and expansive cockpit for heaps of family fishing space.

The boat is rated to carry four adults with the maximum power on the transom limited to 90hp, in either two stroke or four stroke configuration. The recommended power is 70hp. The Explorer 485 is packaged with a single axle galvanised trailer, and with a kerbside weight of (approx) 1100 kgs, the boat is easy to tow, back and store.

Inside the boat the features and appointments are typical of those found in any CruiseCraft model. There is plush upholstery, including padded coamings, a walk through transom door and a big walk through deck hatch that affords the superior access to the bow sprit and anchor.

At the helm there is ample dash space for engine instrumentation as well as marine electronics by way of a fish finder. The helm and passenger seats are fitted to elevated pedestals while additional seating is provided across the rear of the cockpit with the optional full width fold down rear bench seat.

“This is the boat that will introduce many families to the CruiseCraft brand,” said Peter Benston national sales & marketing manager of CruiseCraft.

“When we reviewed our product line up we felt there was a glaring omission and that was with the entry level family fishing boat. Our product line-up of Outsiders, Explorers, Resorts and Executive boat is very comprehensive, but we felt that the CruiseCraft brand was lacking a model to offer the first time boaters.”

Our dealers were telling us that new boaters were very comfortable with the CruiseCraft brand, but felt that we didn’t have a boat small enough to suit their level of skill and confidence.”

The Explorer 485 is the answer. We believe that once new boaters, or those moving up from a dinghy, experience the CruiseCraft brand through the Expylorer 485, they will go on and further their boating with the bigger CruiseCraft models.”
