While both units boast the Lowrance standard for sonar performance, clarity and target definition, the Mark-5x Pro provides the additional benefit of dual-frequency operation for greater coverage in a variety of fishing and boating conditions. With dual-frequency capability – 200kHz and 83kHz – the Mark-5x Pro provides up to 120° of sonar coverage, while reaching down to depths of over 300m.
The Mark-5x operates at 200kHz only, for depths to 240m, while providing up to 60° of fish- and structure finding coverage. Both Mark-5x and Mark-5x Pro models are packed with the transom-mounted Skimmer transducer with built-in temperature sensor.

Riviera
The new Riviera 43 Open Flybridge is launched worldwide at Sanctuary Cove in 2010. This new model incorporates function and style with a supremely comfortable, sea-kindly hull. The most striking aspect about Riviera’s creation is its design approach. “The external lines and look of this new model are unmistakably Riviera,” said Concept design manager Neil McCabe. The vessel is designed exclusively using Riviera’s Unigraphics, a three dimensional CAD software system. The 43 Open Flybridge brings the outdoors in, creating an alfresco environment with a seamless transition between the expansive cockpit and contemporary leather and varnished cherry interior. Below decks there is sleeping accommodation for up to six in two large cabins. “This new model recognises the way people use their boat is changing. A flybridge boat is not just used for fishing but is used for entertaining and longer term cruising,” said McCabe. The Volvo Penta Inboard Performance System (IPS) has allowed Riviera designers to create a fresh accommodation layout on the new model. All major engineering is positioned well aft, so enormous gains are made with beam-width space amidships. Cruising at 28 knots with a top speed of around 31 knots, the 43 Open Flybridge has a range of 340 nautical miles from its 1800 litre tank.
