MERCURY has released an all-new Auto-inflating Personal Floatation Device (PFD) to provide an additional level of safety to boat lovers.
The new Mercury Auto–inflating PFD1 has an absorbent switch which, when it comes in contact with water, automatically inflates the vest.
“The big advantage with this PFD is you don’t have to inflate it manually so in an emergency situation the Mercury PFD will automatically inflate as you enter the water - this is certainly the way to go,” said Mercury’s Accessories director Paul McLean.
The Mercury Auto-inflating PFD is also cut to be far more comfortable and less restrictive than other PFDs on the market, making it great for the all-day boatie.
“Comfort is very important because of then new safety regulations which compel people to wear their PFD more and more,” McLean said.
“If you, your family and friends have to wear a PFD you want it to be comfortable and you also want it to provide the greatest level of safety – after all that’s what it is all about.
“So you just can’t go past Mercury’s new auto-inflating PFD,” McLean said. The new PFD fully complies with Australian Standard AS 1512 for personal flotation devices. It is approved for use in all Australian states and in New Zealand.
LOWRANCE last week launched its Elite 4 and Mark 4 sounder and sounder/GPS combo units in a media event held at Narabeen Lake north of Sydney.
