Bellingham Marine going green

BELLINGHAM Marine, the largest marina manufacturer in Australia, has taken the lead and embraced the Marina Industries Association Low Carbon Marina Initiative.

By participating in the program, Bellingham will reduce the impact its operations have on the environment. This co-operative initiative will contribute to an anticipated 20 per cent reduction in overall greenhouse levels from the marina industry by 2015.

Bellingham Marine general manager John Spragg said: ”For the past 50 years Bellingham has supported many initiatives to protect the environment."

"We have been heavily involved in a number of investigations proving that the building of marinas does not adversely impact on water quality or marine life, in fact, it has been shown marinas enhance the ‘in water environment’," he said.
